  Which interface we are supposed to implement so that a lightning component can be used as a tab?

  Add the force:appHostable interface to a Lightning component to allow it to be used as a custom tab in Lightning Experience.

  We need to implement the “force:appHostable” so that we can use the component as a Tab.
