    Public Group: This is the type of chatter group. It visible and open to all employees. Anyone in the company can join a public group and post, comment, and add files to it.

    A public groups in Salesforce is a collection of individual users, other groups, roles and subordinates that all have a function in common.

    A group consists of a set of users. A group can contain individual users, other groups, or the users in a particular role or territory.
