Record types are used to display different picklist values and page layouts to different users based on their profiles.

Report types tell us about the type of report we are going to generate in our sales cloud.
For example, we can have an Account and contacts reports by using standard report type Accounts with contacts -
There are four types of reports you can create in Salesforce, Tabular, Summary,Matrix and Joined Reports. Each are best suited for showing different types of data depending on what you want out of a report. Tabular – The images that I have shown you in this post have all been from a tabular report.
